Public and private sector expertise

Our team has particular expertise in advising public sector organisations on employment and industrial relations issues.

We have extensive experience working with the specific legislation governing executive employment within the Crown and local government, as well as the legislative frameworks for employees in public service workforces.

Our Special Counsel, Erin Davies, advised on industrial relations issues relating to the amalgamation of Auckland Council, and has provided large corporates, boards of trustees and other organisations here and in Australia in relation to policy implementation, mergers, takeovers, restraint of trade matters, dismissals, restructures and redundancies.

We make judgment calls

We are experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. But we also regularly appear in the Employment Relations Authority and the Employment Court when there are good reasons to be there. 

Our team members are practised litigators. Making sober judgment calls with confidence is what we do, whether it’s drafting individual employment agreements and workplace policies, or making calls about difficult matters in heated employment situations.

We also have experience in conducting investigations within organisations, which calls for integrity, sensitivity and independence, such as in cases of alleged bullying or other serious misconduct.
