Royal acts for and advises international clients – private companies, high-net-worth families and individuals, and entrepreneurs – on disputes involving immigration, property and real estate, overseas investment, multi-jurisdictional compliance, and cross-border litigation.
She has appeared at all levels of New Zealand’s courts and tribunals, and her advocacy on behalf of clients has led to landmark decisions, including the Court of Appeal’s recognition and enforcement of a Chinese judgment for the first time.
Royal’s clients value her straightforward advice on complex and highly sensitive matters, coupled with an acute awareness of different cultural perspectives. She is fluent in Mandarin.
Together with the wider MC team, Royal is skilled in private client issues, helping clients to protect their assets and order their affairs between New Zealand and other jurisdictions.
