About

Rewa (Te Rarawa) joined MC as a Law Clerk for the Criminal Prosecution Group in 2021. She then became a Solicitor in MC's commercial litigation team where she assisted in a range of commercial disputes and in civil proceedings. Now a Solicitor in the firm’s Regulatory practice, Rewa is expanding her litigation experience.   

Rewa has appeared in civil proceedings in the High Court, including in two civil trials under the Fair Trading Act 1986. She appears regularly in the District Court in relation to criminal proceedings.

Rewa is a committee member of MC’s Te Kuhunga scholarship programme and staff-led group, Te Tauhere Manaaki.

Rewa’s Honours dissertation looked at how tikanga concepts might inform the use of Māori knowledge as expert evidence. This dissertation was adapted into an article and published in the Te Tai Haruru Journal of Māori and Indigenous Issues in 2022
