Isabella assists with a wide range of criminal matters and High Court proceedings and regularly appears in the District Court on criminal matters. She has acted as junior counsel on several trials, including sexual violence trials.
Recent Cases & Achievements
Isabella's Honours dissertation examined the application of the presumption of life imprisonment to youth murderers in New Zealand and the need for reform following the Court of Appeal case of Dickey v R [2023] NZCA 2. This dissertation was nominated as an entry for the Legal Research Foundation Award for undergraduate student writing.
Isabella's 2022 honours seminar paper was on Indigenous class actions in Canada and Australia and considered learnings for Māori class actions in Aotearoa New Zealand. This was adapted into an article and published in the Auckland University Law Review Journal in 2023.
