About
Rewa (Te Rarawa) joined MC as a law clerk in 2021. Now a solicitor in MC's commercial litigation team, she assists in a range of commercial disputes and in civil proceedings. Rewa has appeared in civil proceedings in the High Court and appears regularly in the District Court in relation to criminal proceedings.
Since joining MC, Rewa has been member of the firm’s Te Kuhunga scholarship committee and staff-led group, Te Tauhere Manaaki
Recent Cases & Achievements
Commerce Commission v Viagogo AG (judgment pending)- A civil proceeding brought by the Commerce Commission against ticket re-seller, Viagogo AG, under the Fair Trading Act 1986
Rewa’s Honours dissertation looked at how tikanga concepts might inform the use of Māori knowledge as expert evidence. This dissertation was adapted into an article and published in the Te Tai Haruru Journal of Māori and Indigenous Issues in 2022
