Mariah Hori Te Pa
Mariah is a senior solicitor in the civil litigation team based in Wellington, and a junior Crown prosecutor under the Auckland warrant.
Mariah joined Meredith Connell in 2018 as a law clerk after completing her degree. She is increasingly gaining skill and experience in a wide range of legal areas, including public and commercial litigation, regulatory and enforcement, privacy and information law and criminal prosecution.
Mariah is of Muaūpoko, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Rārua and Samoan descent.
- Acting for regulatory bodies such as the Overseas Investment Office in overseas investment proceedings in the High Court, and the Commerce Commission in consumer protection proceedings in the District Court.
- Acting for Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities in a range of complex residential tenancy and commercial disputes, including appearing in Tenancy Tribunal and District Court proceedings.
- Providing secretariat services to two Dispute Advisory Boards on two key central government construction projects, including the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct.
- Secondment to an in-house legal services team of a key Crown entity. This included providing legal, policy and planning advice, project management, and responding to urgent business and legal queries.
