Lanu is a senior solicitor in the Crown Specialist team. Before joining Meredith Connell in early 2022, she was a lawyer in the Auckland Council’s regulatory litigation team. She conducted regulatory prosecutions in the North Shore District Court and regularly acted for the Council on District Court and High Court matters including appeals.
Lanu’s professional career began as a clerk for a boutique law firm advising clients on immigration appeals. She was awarded an internship in Samoa where she undertook legal research and submission writing for the Samoan Law Reform Commission. She was later selected to undertake research for UNESCO’s 41st session of the World Heritage Committee in Poland. In 2018 Lanu joined the Public Defence Service as a criminal defence lawyer.
Lanu is of Tongan descent.
