Kristy Li

Senior Solicitor

Kristy is a prosecutor in the Crown Specialist Group. She regularly appears for the Crown in the District Court and High Court, and has appeared on instructions from the Solicitor-General in the Court of Appeal.

Kristy has also acted on instructions from the Department of Corrections, Commissioner of Police and the New Zealand Customs Service. She has conducted extradition proceedings on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia, and has appeared as trial counsel in the Supreme Court of Samoa for the prosecution of a member of Parliament.

Before joining MC, Kristy prosecuted serious crime on behalf of the Crown in South Auckland for five years. Prior to that, she worked as a criminal defence lawyer for the Public Defence Service and completed a Master of Laws at the London School of Economics.
