Jessica Phillips


Jessica is an Associate in the Commerce Compliance team.  This role includes acting on a variety of civil proceedings and regulatory prosecutions for the Commerce Commission.

Jessica joined Meredith Connell in 2018, having previously worked at a boutique litigation firm in London where she advised clients on competition and commercial matters.  Prior to this she worked in the general litigation team at Buddle Findlay where she advised a range of clients in relation to banking, intellectual property and contractual disputes, and participated in litigation in the District and High Court. 

  • Acting for a diverse claimant group in Deutsche Bahn & Others v Mastercard Incorporated & Others seeking damages in excess of £200 million for breaches of UK and European competition law, with claims brought in both the Chancery Division of the English High Court  and the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
  • Representing a citizens’ action group in its judicial review of the decision by the Office of Communications to allow the merger of Sky and Fox to proceed in the UK.
  • Advising a prominent UK business on potential claims against lenders in respect of alleged mis-selling and conspiracy.
