Jessica Phillips


Jessica specialises in commercial dispute advice, resolution and litigation.  She advises clients and conducts litigation in a broad range of contentious civil and criminal matters.  She has particular recent experience in regulatory and property litigation.  Jessica also prosecutes criminal matters in District Court jury trials under the Crown warrant. 

Jessica joined Meredith Connell in 2018, having previously worked at a boutique litigation firm in London where she advised clients on competition and commercial matters.  Prior to this she worked in the general litigation team at a large Auckland commercial law firm where she advised a range of clients in relation to banking, intellectual property and contractual disputes, and participated in litigation in the District and High Court.

  • Acting for a diverse claimant group in Deutsche Bahn & Others v Mastercard Incorporated & Others seeking damages in excess of £200 million for breaches of UK and European competition law, with claims brought in both the Chancery Division of the English High Court  and the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
  • Representing a citizens’ action group in its judicial review of the decision by the Office of Communications to allow the merger of Sky and Fox to proceed in the UK.
  • Advising a prominent UK business on potential claims against lenders in respect of alleged mis-selling and conspiracy.
