About

Harrison (Ngā Puhi) is an experienced Crown prosecutor, predominately conducting jury trial work in the Auckland District Court.  He also regularly appears in the Auckland High Court for bail appeals, as well as appeals against sentence and conviction. 

Harrison acts on instructions from various government departments including Crown Law, the Department of Corrections, the New Zealand Customs Service and the Department of Internal Affairs. 

Before joining MC in 2021, Harrison was employed as a criminal defence barrister working for two senior barristers, where he regularly appeared on a range of criminal matters including as junior counsel in jury trials in the District and High Courts, and before the New Zealand Parole Board.

Recent Cases & Achievements

Prosecuted cases involving methamphetamine supply, sexual violence, arson and serious violence.

Junior counsel to Sam McMullan in the jury trial R v Hua, which involved the most serious money laundering offending seen in New Zealand to date (Operation Ida)

Junior counsel to Stephen Bonnar KC in large scale methamphetamine importation and supply High Court trial.
