Eliza Egan

Solicitor

Eliza practises in all areas of insolvency, including corporate restructuring and insolvency, regulatory enforcement and personal insolvency.

Prior to joining Meredith Connell, Eliza worked at a leading Western Australian law firm. In this capacity, Eliza acted for a variety of Australia’s major banks, accounting firms and insolvency practitioners in respect of all forms of external administration and recovery.

In addition to her role as an insolvency solicitor, Eliza is a junior Crown counsel in criminal prosecutions. 

Eliza is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the High Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand. Eliza is a graduate member of ARITA and a member of RITANZ and the New Zealand Law Society.

Eliza has been involved in a large range of matters, including:

  • multi-million dollar mortgage recovery advice, enforcement and litigation in the High Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Federal Court of Australia;
  • advising an American-based hedge fund in respect of its debt exposure to an Australian mining concern; and
  • assisting in the scheme of arrangement for one of the world’s largest gold producers.
