
Carissa Fleury
Solicitor
Carissa is a Solicitor in MC’s Commercial Litigation team. She assists in a wide range of commercial and civil proceedings and has a particular interest in cases involving corporate fraud and investigations. Carissa also acts for the Crown in criminal proceedings.
Before starting at MC as a law clerk, Carissa worked at a large NZX listed insurance company as the Assistant Company Secretary, assisting with all matters relating to corporate governance. She was also previously Co-Treasurer and Board Member of UOA Women In Law Incorporated, being awarded the 2021 Treasurers of the Year award in recognition of achievements on the Executive Committee and Board.
- Assisting with litigation involving a company’s claims against former executives and auditors following accounting irregularities
- Acting for the Crown in District Court and High Court proceedings, including a large scale prosecution of insider trading under the Financial Markets Conduct Act
- Acting for private international clients against a fund manager and Financial Markets Authority regulated broker to recover investment funds
