Andy Luck
Associate
Andy is a civil and regulatory litigator with particular experience in credit finance and consumer law. Andy also regularly acts for commercial clients on a range of advisory and litigation matters, and conducts criminal prosecutions on behalf of the Crown.
Prior to joining Meredith Connell, Andy worked as a junior barrister in a leading Wellington chambers.
Andy has acted as junior counsel in a number of complex proceedings brought by the Commerce Commission, including:
- Commerce Commission v viagogo AG (including Court of Appeal proceedings confirming the availability of interim ex-parte relief against overseas respondents).
- Commerce Commission v Home Direct Ltd (the first case brought by the Commission under the unfair contract terms provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1986).
- Commerce Commission v Harmoney Ltd (case stated proceedings brought to clarify the legal status of peer-to-peer lending).
Andy also appears for the Crown in jury trials and for the New Zealand Police in High Court appeals.
